Discovery Harbour is a community located in one of the best locations on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Built around a private 18-hole golf course, our location on the island is ideal, mid-point between the two major metropolitan areas of Kona and Hilo – or in sightseeing terms, halfway between the most beautiful beaches in the world in Kohala, and the rain forest and waterfalls on  the eastern side of the island.  This location gives Discovery Harbour the seclusion and privacy of the countryside with the convenience of urban amenities not so far away.  And, we are located just 30 miles from Volcanoes National Park where you can see a volcano that’s been active for almost 30 years.

Planning your day might include a visit to famous Punalu’u Black Sand Beach just a few minutes away, where you can swim in crystal clear waters and spot the endangered sea turtles.  Also a short drive away is the Green Sand Beach, where the sand is truly green against the beautiful clear water.   Snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking and diving opportunities abound, not to mention golf courses, good restaurants and lots of exciting community events.
